Games We Wish We Could Host: Is Selaco Multiplayer?

Running EVLBOX means I'm always thinking about multiplayer potential—what would be fun to host, what would make an epic LAN night, and what my friends and customers would dive into immediately. But every so often, a new game hits my radar that checks all the boxes, except the most crucial one: multiplayer support. Right now, that game is Selaco.

Another Banger We Can’t Host 😤

Selaco is hands-down one of the most impressive boomer shooters I've played in a long time. It’s smooth, fast, stylish, and incredibly polished—even in Early Access. But here’s the kicker: no multiplayer. No co-op. No PvP. No dedicated servers. Just pure, single-player vibes. Don't get me wrong—I love a good solo shooter—but I can’t help thinking how epic this would be if we could host it on EVLBOX.

What Is Selaco?

Selaco is a retro-inspired FPS built on the tried-and-true GZDoom engine, paying homage to legendary classics like Doom, F.E.A.R., and one of my favorites Half-Life. But labeling it as just another “boomer shooter” undersells its true potential.

This game hits different. From its incredibly smart enemy AI—seriously, these guys flank, take cover, and feel genuinely intelligent—to its richly detailed and destructible environments, Selaco pushes the boundaries of retro FPS gameplay. The game world is fully connected, immersive, and packed with storytelling moments that pull you in.

Even though Selaco is still in Early Access (it launched May 2024), the current build is more polished and engaging than most under $25 steam games out there.

Why We Wish We Could Host Selaco

If you’ve read Jaime's recent Enshrouded Server Review, you know how satisfying it is to host a multiplayer survival sandbox. Imagine applying that same multiplayer magic to Selaco.

Here's just a few multiplayer scenarios we'd absolutely kill for:

Co-op Campaign Mode:
Picture two to four players coordinating attacks, setting tactical traps, flanking enemy squads, and breaching rooms together. F.E.A.R.-style combat would be incredible with friends.

Horde Mode / Survival:
A server hosting endless waves of intelligent, aggressive enemies storming Selaco station. Players fortifying positions, patching breaches, and surviving chaos side-by-side.

PVP with Destruction:
5v5 multiplayer matches with fully destructible environments. Rockets blast holes in walls, grenades clear rooms, and dynamic gameplay keeps every match fresh.

Class-Based Mods:
Engineer to build defenses, Medic to heal teammates, Soldier to spearhead attacks—think TF2 but darker, grittier, and more intense.

Invasion Mode (Doom-style):
One player controls enemies, spawning monsters and ambushes while others fight desperately to survive. Pure chaos.

Is Selaco Worth Playing Anyway?

Hell yes. Even without multiplayer, Selaco is an absolute must-play if you love fast-paced shooters. Fans of Doom Eternal, Ultrakill, or classic F.E.A.R. will feel instantly at home with Selaco's gameplay.

The gunplay is tight, the visuals are stylish (there is fun artwork everywhere!), and the music is fantastic. It’s inspiring to see how passionate Altered Orbit studios is. If you're here wondering "Is Selaco multiplayer?" and you're disappointed it’s not, I still recommend giving it a shot—it’s that good.

Final Thoughts: Let Us Host This Already!

Big shout-out to Altered Orbit Studios for creating something genuinely impressive here. Selaco is a game that deserves multiplayer modes, and I truly hope the devs consider adding them in the future.

If you haven't already, go wishlist or grab Selaco on Steam.
